FC Lugano welcomed special guests from El Salvador during the opening weekend of the AIL Arena. This initiative was made possible through collaboration with the Leading Partner Lugano’s Plan B. The trip to Lugano was the prize of the Plan B Forum El Salvador contest, organized by FC Lugano and Lugano’s Plan B at the Plan B Forum in San Salvador. During the 2025 and 2026 editions of the forum, the club had a booth where participants could engage in various interactive football activities. The contest winners, three pairs, arrived in Lugano on Thursday, May 28, and experienced an unforgettable time in the region. They visited the city of Lugano, took an excursion to Monte Brè, and explored Bellinzona and its market. The highlight of their stay was the opening of the new AIL Arena. On Sunday, May 31, the winners participated in the Self Tour of the AIL Arena, discovering the iconic areas of the new stadium. An emotional moment was their appearance on the main stage of the Fan Village, where they addressed the audience in Italian. The day concluded with a boat ride on Lake Lugano and lunch in Caprino before their return to El Salvador on Monday, June 1. This initiative has strengthened the bond between the club, Lugano’s Plan B, and an international community increasingly connected to FC Lugano. From the Plan B Forum in San Salvador to the AIL Arena, FC Lugano demonstrates how sports, culture, and passion can be intertwined.
